the know-how or “savoir-faire” is the ability to design and create the most beautiful objects. at PÉNÉLOPE, this process begins with a draughtsman´s or designer´s drawing which will grace, at our client´s request, a tablecloth, some bedspread or bathroom linen, making them precious and unique for a daily refined occurrence or a grand social occasion.
old traditional techniques are then used to copy these designs on the chosen material and the embroiderers can then practice their art.
each one of them will interpret with his or her own personality the design he or she was given to embroider.
with the help of a hoop which stretches and maintain the fabric, the embroiderer will “paint with his or her needle”. it requires years of experience and a great mastery to successfully embroider the colours on the most intricate outlines and the most meticulous designs.
this “needle painting” technique makes it possible to achieve a very high degree of flexibility and this is the reason why it has always been privileged by PÉNÉLOPE´s embroiderers.
